Start-up fees are typically around $300 and then food expenses are a minimum of $70 per week. That’s over $580 for your first month alone!
With these “continuation programs,” their plan is to make the most money with the least amount of effort once they have you hooked. They get their foot in your door, then bet the bank you’ll forget about the continuation and keep on paying them even though you aren’t using or following through with their actual diet plan.
Avoid companies with these “continuation programs” unless it’s a weight loss plan for your bank account.

Too fast, too unhealthy, too far-out! If you’ve read a magazine or watched TV lately, you’ve probably seen a few of the 100s of unhealthy, Hollywood type diets spurting out of the Land of the Rich and Impatient.
“Lose 10 lbs in a week!” “Lose 10 lbs in 10 minutes!” “Lose your mind while trying to look like your favorite movie star!”
Quick? Maybe. Sustainable weight loss programs? No way. Sure, you might lose weight quickly, but you could do the same by taking part in a 48-hour famine, which is what many top models do regularly at home, while attached to a liposuction machine run by their personal trainers. Of course you’ll lose weight if you don’t eat, but it’s not only horrible for your body, your brain needs food to function. (Many top models do not actually have a brain, so it’s not a problem for them.) No food and you’ll be very moody, depressed and want to do grim things with your kitchen knife since you can’t use it to prepare food.
A few of the real far-out diets that are too-far-out-there:
Much of the weight you lose comes back the very first day you start eating “normal” again. These diets give you a false sense of hope and are highly toxic to your body. But hey, if you only want temporary results, and have to squeeze into your slinky Armani dress for the Oscars tonight, please try them all.

A large number of large Americans just say “yes” to drugs. They resort to weight loss pills to shed pounds and dollars. Many pills simply drain the necessary fluid content in your body so you only feel thin. The unnecessary body fats are still there, so this is not a proper road to the weight loss goal you’re undoubtedly attempting to achieve.
Hmmm. Starve yourself? Some pills curb your hunger so your cravings automatically disappear. Is altering your mind so you starve your body a reasonable, healthy program? We don’t think so. How about “natural” pills? Natural weight loss pills typically contain ingredients found in the foods you already eat. Some contain caffeine as the main ingredient, a plant-based alkaloid that stimulates the nervous system, curbs hunger and increases energy. Duh! How about a cup of coffee?
Just say “no” to diet pills.

Seeing is believing. We actually saw an advertisement that said the latest and greatest ab machine will help you “lose 50 lbs in 10 days.” (If you believe that, we also have some malaria-free swampland in Africa that we’d like to sell you.)
There are 100s of ab programs, ab aerobics, ab loungers, ab twisters, ab blasters, ab rockers and rollers: absolutely absurd appliances inspired by tools of torture in Medieval dungeons.
Ab-stract Fact: Having a low-body-fat-to-muscle ratio can make you look fit.
Ab-solute Reality: You can build your abdominal muscles with some of these machines, but building abs, very small muscles, will not do anything with the fat that covers up your abs, those aforementioned very, small muscles.
Next time you hear “have amazing abs in 30 days,” remember what you read here and the malaria-free swampland in Africa. Unless you have a healthy diet and eat the “right” foods and do the “right” exercise, you will not have the trim stomach you have always wanted.
